At some point, we all will have a turn dealing with stress in one form or another. You may have stress at work, with your family, dealing with an illness, money problems and so on and so forth… These are some of the most common triggers for negative stress. According to recent studies, about half of all Americans say that they are dealing with moderate stress on a daily basis.
Not all stress is bad, though. It can make you more aware of things around you and keep you more focused. In some cases stress can give you strength and help you get more things done.
Physical effects of chronic stress include:
- Headache
- Trouble sleeping, or sleeping too much
- Muscle pain or tension
- Digestive issues
- Change in sex drive
- High blood pressure
Emotional effects of chronic stress include:
- Feeling you can’t get things done
- Moodiness
- Anxiety
- Restlessness
- Lack of motivation
- Irritability
- Sadness or depression
Sometimes you might feel as if you have way too much stress…more than you can handle. In these cases it would be best for you seek out some help from a medical professional…
It is always okay to seek out help when you don’t know what your options are.
